Per the WPRA Rulebook, there will be no physical nomination or election ballots. Ballots are digital only and will be emailed to each eligible voting member.

Rodeo Payout Schedule

Payout Schedule

Provided the WPRA office has received all necessary results and information on time, rodeo payouts are typically processed via RodeoPay by 12:00 PM MT on Tuesday for rodeos that ended on or before the previous Sunday.

Examples:

  • A rodeo held from Friday, August 15th - Sunday, August 17th, 2025, will be paid out on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025.
  • A rodeo ending on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th, 2025, will be paid out Tuesday of the following week, June 3rd, 2025.

Holiday and Information Delays

  • If a holiday falls on Monday or Tuesday, payouts may be delayed by one day due to bank closures.
  • Payouts may also be delayed if required results or information are missing. In such cases, payouts will be processed as soon as all necessary information is received and processed.

We strive to communicate any delays via wpra.com or through email to keep members informed.

Using RodeoPay

The WPRA utilizes RodeoPay for payouts. If you do not have a RodeoPay account, a check will be issued by RodeoPay, with a $10 check fee applied. We encourage all members to set up a RodeoPay account at RodeoPay.com to avoid additional fees and expedite your payments. Members can set up their RodeoPay accounts to be automatically transferred to their bank accounts or they may use a debit card connected to their RodeoPay account. There is a Member Guide that is available at: https://wpra.com/pdfs/RodeoPay-WPRA_Members_Guide.pdf

Exceptions

Please note that exceptions to the payout schedule may apply in rare cases.

Consistent Roping Proves Key to Domer's 2024 Breakaway Roping World Title

Sometimes it pays to not know. The idea of "ignorance is bliss" turned out to be beneficial for Kelsie Domer as she backed into the box with an average and world title on the line to close out the 2024 rodeo season.

Although the majority of the audience in attendance, and those watching on The Cowboy Channel at this year’s 2024 Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, knew that Domer had won the average title prior to roping her 10th and final calf, she was truly unaware of the situation.

“Of course I was shocked, and as crazy as that seems, I truly was because I was aggressive and I was proud of the shot I took,” recalled Domer when reliving the moment her loop came up empty on her final calf. “I'll take that shot 99 more times, and probably 99 more times, that's going to work, so it was just one of those things. A lot of people asked if I let the pressure get to me and I truly didn't and honestly, I didn't know that I had the average won before I ever roped.

“I was just focusing on my game plan and sticking to my game plan and doing what I had done the other nine rounds. So, I was proud that I stuck with that. Had I known I had the average won I don't honestly know what I would’ve done. I might have still taken that same shot, because I'm not one just to safety up. I was obviously bummed as everybody wants to go 10 for 10.”
