Valentine's Day Gifts for Women in Need
5,000 Purse Project members
L to R: Marie Korn, Deborah Globus and Barbara Heller donate 400 filled purses for women at The INN
"5,000 Purse Project" Group Donates 400 bags to The INN
A special thanks goes out to the women involved with THE 5,000 PURSE PROJECT, a campaign by women for women led by a group from the the Social Action Committee of Kehillath Shalom Synagogue in Cold Spring Harbor. The group collects gently used handbags, fills them with feminine care items (shampoos, tissues, perfume, body lotion- etc), and donates them to worthy organizations in the local area that assist women in need.

The group assembled 400 bags in time for Valentine's Day, which were distributed to female guests at the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen, as well as The INN's family shelters.
