Troop 2019 Reaches New Heights
In mid-March, Troop 2019 camped at Canyon RV Park in Anaheim, preparing for Camporee while taking on the high ropes course. With several new Scouts in attendance, older Scouts stepped up as leaders, teaching skills, guiding camp setup, and even impressing with their cooking.
The ropes course pushed Scouts out of their comfort zones, creating powerful moments of teamwork and encouragement. A Star Scout helped support younger, hesitant Scouts, turning fear into confidence and bonding.
The day ended with a thrilling zipline, a “best scream” contest, and a fun campfire featuring skits and a full-troop singalong of “Let It Go.” If you’re attending the Pio Pico Camporee, you might get to see that skit performance live!

Troop 476 Explores Crime Prevention & Drone Technology
Troop 476 recently welcomed Detective Huynh from the District Attorney’s Office for an engaging and educational troop meeting focused on crime prevention, drug and DUI awareness, and the role of drone technology in modern law enforcement. Scouts gained valuable insight into public safety efforts and the innovative tools used to protect our communities.
A highlight of the program is a live demonstration of public safety drones, giving Scouts a firsthand look at how this technology is used in real-world situations.
Units interested in hosting this impactful presentation can schedule a visit with Detective Huynh. A suitable meeting space and a minimum of 10 participants are required, with availability typically within 2–3 weeks.
