Join us for what's sure to be a remarkable evening as she shares her personal story and gives us a professional perspective on this issue. You’ll learn real life strategies to help improve communication with your teen.

Thank you Dr. Lisa Novak , licensed clinical psychologist and co-founder and director of  Illuminate Psychological Assessments, LLC , for a very informative presentation at the latest  CATCH Speaker Series  event:  Navigating the Road Map for Your Child:  Understanding Private Interventions and School-Based Supports .

Dr. Novak helped us understand the signs that it may be time to seek help for our child, where to get it, and what the various options are.
Our mission is to empower families to raise resilient, independent youth by focusing on mental health and emotional wellness.

More than 2 billion people have smartphones today. And we check our devices on average an incredible 150 times every day. Technology makes our lives easier in so many ways - but what is the cost of our dependence, and our children’s reliance, on screens?  LIKE reveals the true effects of technology on the brain and uncovers the impact social media can have on our lives. The film’s mission is to educate, inform and inspire people to effectively self-regulate their screen time.

The LIKE screening will be followed by a panel discussion.

Kids are growing up with nearly unlimited access to social media and the internet, along with unprecedented academic, social, and familial stressors. Starting as early as eight-years-old, children are exposed to information, thought, and emotion that they are developmentally unprepared to process. Dr. Duffy will cover these issues and offer guidance on how parents can best support their child.

Dr. Duffy is a nationally recognized parenting expert and clinical psychologist. He has been working with individuals, couples, teens, and families for nearly 25 years.

Dr. Duffy served as the regular parenting and relationship expert on  Steve Harvey . He also appears frequently in the media on outlets including the  The Today  Show, E! News, Fox Good Day Chicago, WGN-TV,  NPR WGN Radio Huffington Post,   Wall Street Journal , Chicago Parent, Chicago Tribune , Chicago Sun-Times, and more.   Dr. Duffy is cohost of the popular podcast, better , with his wife, Julie, as well as On Purpose with Chicago Tribune columnist Heidi Stevens.
College Scholarship Opportunity
Rebecca's Dream , a local organization whose mission is to promote awareness and compassionate understanding of depression and bipolar disorder as real diseases, offers THREE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS every year. 

Applications are due December 1. These scholarships recognize teens in the community who are fighting the stigma of mental illness.
