Responding in Hope with Care for our Neighbor
Dear Beloved people at St. Matthias,

So much is happening so fast these days. Its hard to believe that two weeks ago things were functioning mostly as "Usual." Give yourself credit today - you've gotten through a week of constant change, and you've done the best you could. Keep it up and remember we are all in this together.

Praying for each other is not the only thing we can do for each other right now, but it is the baseline that we Christians do. I have created a link below to add someone who is ill or who is a Healthcare Provider/Essential Worker. Please feel free to add several people - you'll need to go through the form each time to do so.

Consider taking part in one of our livestreamed services or our Wednesday zoom meeting. It is important to stay connected. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to pray or talk (see "Set up a time to talk" below.) It's my vocation!
Stay Safe!

Sunday Morning Worship on 3/22 will be Livestreamed to Facebook
We will be offering Morning Prayer with a special litany for this time of the Coronavirus and Spiritual Communion at 10AM

Needs at the Waukesha Food Pantry
Needs are increasing at the Waukesha Food Pantry as people are out of work - here's a message from Michael Egly at the Pantry:

We have seen an increase just this week and we expect that to continue.

Shelf stable food items that are needed include: cereal, pasta with meat
(like ravioli), ready to eat soup (like Chunky & Progreso), canned tuna and
chicken, canned fruits, and canned vegetables.

We can also accept refrigerated items, most needed right now include: eggs
and milk, but also longer lasting fresh produce like apples and carrots.

Monetary donations to support operations and food purchasing are also
greatly appreciated.

Donations can be brought directly to The FOOD Pantry during our operating
hours, Mon-Fri 9-5, Thursday until 8pm, and Sat 9:30-11:30.

If you cannot or do not wish to leave your house, contact FrDavid
What do I pray?
Here's a prayer for a person who is sick:

God of all comfort, our very present help in trouble: be near to N. for whom our prayers are offered. Look on her/him with the eyes of your mercy; comfort her/him with a sense of your presence; preserve her/him from the enemy; and give her/him patience in her/his afflictions. Restore her/him to health, and lead her/him to your eternal Glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And here's one for you to pray for yourself:

Lord Christ, you came into the world as one of us, and suffered as we do. As I go through this time of trial and anxiety, help me to realize that you are with me at all times and in all things and that your loving grace enfolds me for eternity. In the security of your embrace I pray. Amen.
From our Treasurer and Vestry
Please remember to try to keep your pledge current during this time - without an offering plate, our financial situation could be in jeopardy. We have committed to continuing to pay our employees during this difficult time, including the nursery workers through the end of their current schedule. To be able to make payroll, we will need to make sure offerings are sent in my check, taken out of bank accounts by ACH, or made online. This is a great time to try, our online giving service. You can give by checking account or credit or debit card, set up regular giving, and get giving statements any time you require them. Please help us to continue to fund the mission of St. Matthias and the support it is giving our community.

Online Morning Prayer at 9AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays
I'll be offering online morning prayer on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9AM from the chapel. We will be using the same Facebook Live technology we used for Sunday Morning, which allows for feedback on the page. Note that you DO NOT need a Facebook account to watch the Facebook Live feed.

St. Matthias Wednesday Online
We will do something different on Wednesday evenings from 7PM to 8:30ish with prayer, check-in and teaching. We will be using Zoom, which is a common app for teleconferencing. It works on PC, Mac, Apple or Android Phones. It also has an option to simply call in by phone if the conference option is unworkable for you. Clicking on the link below on whatever device you wish to participate with should get you to the right place. Please join us!
Set up a Time to Talk
