Greetings, Talie Jane Family,

Spring has arrived, and we have so much to celebrate with you!

For the 11th year in a row, Talie Jane has been honored with Best of Houzz for Customer Service. We’re incredibly grateful for this recognition and humbled by the kind words and glowing testimonials from our amazing clients and friends.

We’re also excited to unveil our brand-new website: TalieJaneInteriors.com. It’s fresh, beautiful, and filled with great content, so take a moment to explore our new and improved look.

Our “Ask Talie Jane” column continues to appear monthly in the Tahoe Daily Tribune, and we love hearing from you so keep those design questions coming!

Beyond print, we’ve been having a lot of fun connecting with the community through our weekly TV interviews, featured on Tahoe Real Estate Show and Tahoe Tonight on Adventure Outside TV. It’s been a wonderful way to share design insights, ideas, and inspiration. Keep watching!

In this issue of Bespoke, we’re sharing a few of our favorite “hear me out” design moments with clients, along with ideas to beat the winter blues. We’re also spotlighting one of our fantastic partners, Arctic Electric, who recently hosted our team for a hands-on morning learning about the latest lighting trends and technologies.

You’ll meet Reed, one of the talented carpenters on the Talie Jane Construction team. His craftsmanship and passion for the trade are truly impressive; be sure to read his bio and get to know a valued member of our crew.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our monthly workshops. We’ve loved spending that time together styling coffee tables and bookshelves in January, diving into Area Rugs in February (covering materials, sizing, and care), and most recently hosting a panel of experts for “Lasting Luxury” sharing insider tips on keeping your furnishings flawless and fabulous, from stunning wallpapers and beautiful fabrics to cabinetry, tile, and stone.

When our friends at Arctic Electric invited the entire Talie Jane team, both Interiors and Construction, to tour their brand-new lighting showroom, we knew we were in for something special. Still, nothing quite prepared us for the experience. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear: this wasn’t just a showroom, it was a masterclass in the power of thoughtful lighting design.

After a delicious breakfast (always a great start), we were guided through an engaging, hands-on workshop that explored the latest innovations and trends in lighting. As designers, we understand that lighting is essential but seeing it executed at this level truly elevated our perspective. The team demonstrated how pre-set lighting scenes can effortlessly transform a space, adapting throughout the day to complement both natural light and the rhythms of daily life. It’s not just about illumination; it’s about creating an atmosphere that supports how you live.

Team Spotlight

Get to Know Us...Reed Alden

Reed is a highly sought after carpenter and plumber from Maine with a career rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and service.

A U.S. Navy veteran and graduate of Eastern Maine Tech with a degree in Plumbing Technology, he brings decades of experience to every project. Reed successfully ran his own plumbing company for several years before spending over 30 years with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace, where he dedicated 27 years to quality control.

Before joining the Talie Jane Construction team, he served as Resort Engineer at Edgewood Tahoe.

Outside of work, Reed is an avid fisherman, hunter, and sports enthusiast, and proudly gives a special shout-out to his wonderful wife, Amber.
