The 2026 combined Assessment & Tax Notices will be mailed out the first week of May and are due by June 30, 2026.
If you have not received your tax notice by May 31, 2026, please contact the Town Office at 403.885.4677 to request that another copy be sent out to you.

Blackfalds Franchise Renewal Documents Application
ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. will file an application with the Alberta Utilities Commission, requesting approval to renew its franchise agreement with the Town of Blackfalds.
The franchise agreement will continue to grant ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. the right to deliver natural gas to residents of Blackfalds. The renewal franchise agreement is proposed to be effective on August 1, 2026, and expire on August 1, 2036, and includes an option to extend the term for up to ten years.
The existing franchise agreement was previously approved by the Commission in Decision 29708-D01-2024.

Street Sweeping
Once the winter/spring seesaw ends, crews will be out to sweep the winter debris off the streets!
Spring sweeping usually starts mid to late April and is typically completed by mid-May. Our sweepers are on the streets between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday.
We will be posting the sweep/road schedule on our website at www.blackfalds.ca/roads!

Our Citizen Request Portal gives residents simple access to Town services and reports any issues you find around Town; whether that be icy sidewalks, a fallen tree, street sweeping, etc.

Garbage/Recycling Collection

The automated arms on the collection truck need to clasp and lift the carts. If there isn’t enough space for the equipment to operate correctly, your carts will not be emptied.
Leave at least 1 m (3 ft) around your carts so you can comfortably walk between and around them.

Sidewalk Sand
Reminder - there are boxes filled with free salted sand located in the Abbey Centre parking lot and in the Centennial Park parking lot on Panorama drive!
Bring a shovel and bucket, and take what you need during the freeze/thaw season.

Spring Round Up
The Spring Round-Up is scheduled for May 11 - 15!
All items must be placed for pick up on the Tuesday of that week. Items not registered will be the responsibility of the property owner.
Please pre-register your items by calling 403.885.4677 by May 8, 2026.
Twice a year, Town crews pick up household items and yard waste that are not typically put in the garbage.
Please follow these guidelines:
- Place all items for disposal on the edge of your property in your back lane. Items inside your property will not be picked up.
- Sort items into piles of wood, metal, and dry ruble waste.
- Grass, sod, and compost must be bagged or put in a manageable container.
- Clean up is intended for household and yard waste only.
- Construction waste, car parts, and hazardous waste will NOT be picked up.
