Outdoor Tennis/Pickleball are open!
The outdoor Tennis/Pickleball resurfacing project has been completed!
Thank you to staff and contractors for their hard work and efficiency - the courts look amazing!
Notice anything different? There are now four pickleball courts AND removable pickleball nets for public use! We ask that after the pickleball nets are used, they are returned to the edge of the courts (as shown in the last photo).
We also ask that both tennis and pickleball players continue to be respectful of one another and share the courts.

E-Scooter Update
Neuron Mobility's operations have been taken over by Lime Technology Canada! Due to this change, Neuron e-scooters have been removed from the community until further notice!
We are working with Lime Technology Canada regarding next steps for e-mobility service within Blackfalds.

Our Citizen Request Portal gives residents simple access to Town services and reports any issues you find around Town; whether that be icy sidewalks, a fallen tree, street sweeping, etc.

Garbage/Recycling Collection
The Town of Blackfalds’ recycling program is now managed by Circular Materials, a national not-for-profit organization that is committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Alberta. Click here to visit Circular Materials’ website specific to Blackfalds!

Starting October 1, 2026, you will be able to recycle even more materials!
Soon, Circular Materials will be collecting glass containers, foam packaging, flexible plastic and aerosols right at your curb.
A detailed material list will be available for download in coming months. In the meantime, visit www.circularmaterials.ca/AB to learn more about your enhanced recycling program.

The automated arms on the collection truck need to clasp and lift the carts. If there isn’t enough space for the equipment to operate correctly, your carts will not be emptied.
Leave at least 1 m (3 ft) around your carts so you can comfortably walk between and around them.

Summer Culture Series
Our next and final Summer Culture Series is on August 13 and we are excited to be hosting the Wonder Dome!
Viewers will be immersed in a 360-degree visual full-dome that brings oceans, stars, and the mysteries of our world right to you!

Camp Curious
Camp Curious registration is officially open!
What is Camp Curious?
It's a weekly summer camp for two age groups (ages 6 - 7 and ages 8 - 11)! Each week of camp has its own theme and is packed with activities, crafts, games and sports.
Full day camps also include a field trip and swim lessons.
