Notice to Residents
Crack Sealing
Every summer, the Public Works team undertakes the task of crack sealing the roads using a cold-pour rubberized asphalt sealant that stays flexible when applied to a crack.

If these cracks are not regularly maintained it could lead to potholes, sinkholes and reduce the overall life of the asphalt surface.

  • Road maintenance will be marked by signage on the day of the crack sealing
  • Please avoid these areas if possible to expedite the work and give the asphalt time to cure
  • Once cracks are sealed flour is applied to reduce tracking from vehicles and keep the product in place
Be sure to stay a safe distance from the sealing crew, and slow when passing workers.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Seasonal Yard Waste Program Returns!
Between the months of May and October, weekly collection of yard waste also takes place on your designated collection day!

Drinking Water Lead Management Program
This summer, Town Staff will be testing water for lead but will be asking residents' permission before accessing taps.
The purpose of testing is to determine the connection of lead services or household plumbing that may cause the risk of lead contamination.

Don't Flush Wipes
Baby wipes, personal hygiene wipes, and disinfectant wipes can clock sewer pies and impact the operation of our Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Fire Hazard: Don’t put batteries in the garbage
Batteries pose a very serious fire risk when disposed of improperly. When batteries end up in the garbage or recycling they often get punctured or crushed, which can damage the separation between the cathode and anode, causing them to catch fire or explode.

In addition to the fire danger, batteries can also contain toxic chemicals, including lithium, cadmium, sulfuric acid and lead.

For these reasons, please don’t put batteries in the garbage or mix them in with your recycling.
Batteries need to be disposed of as e-waste or hazardous waste so they can be carefully handled to prevent these fires.
Garbage/Recycling Cart Placement
The automated arms on the collection truck need to clasp and lift the carts. If there isn’t enough space for the equipment to operate correctly, your carts will not be emptied.

Remember to leave at least 1 m (3 ft) around your carts so you can comfortably walk between and around them.

Know What's Below!
Whether you are landscaping, building a new fence or deck, or simply planting a garden, disturbing the ground on your property can cause damage to a buried utility. Some utilities are buried mere centimeters below the surface.

Use our new Utility Locates Request Form to have any buried utilities identified and marked prior to an excavation.
