Good Riddance 2020: Let’s Move Forward
2020 has been a strange, uncharted journey. In the spirit of the New Year, we felt inspired to do something tangible, cathartic, and healing. Here’s the plan: we are going to shred every bad thought, every terrible memory, and every great loss or regret you want to give us. We will shred the bad (literally) and hopefully, we can leave some of the heaviness behind us and enter 2021 a bit lighter.

Releasing what weighs us down is important, but so is setting intentions for the year to come. What better way to welcome growth and renewal of spirit than through nature! Seed paper, actually. Write your hopes for 2021, or what you’ve learned during this tumultuous year on something you can watch blossom and bloom.

The How-To
Email the Delta Township District Library at [email protected] and tell us what memory you want to shred. Nothing is off-limits here. It won’t go public, and it won’t be shared. Just get it off your chest. We’ll share what our efforts have resulted in – a huge pile of scrap paper shredded to bits. Then, stop by the library and grab a piece of seed paper from Carside Hold Pickup by January 3. Write down your wish for 2021, and watch it grow into something beautiful.

Battle of the Books 2021
The Delta Township District Library and Grand Ledge Area District Library are happy to present Battle of the Books 2021: Best of Battle! Our 13th annual program will look a little different than years past, but we think you’ll enjoy our new spin on Battle, with engaging reads, fun activities, and friendly competition. One exciting change for 2021 is that you get to help us choose the booklist! We selected 25 favorite titles from the past 12 years of Battle of the Books, the “greatest hits” of Battle. Now you can vote for your favorites! We’ll announce the final five in January to kick off the program. See the Best of Battle list and cast your vote at dtdl.org/battle.
