Delta Township residents may dispose of their natural Christmas trees from December 26 through January 31 at the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Building, which is located on Administration Drive directly north of the Delta Township Administration Building. Please remove any Christmas lights, wires, string, and ornaments from the tree. If transporting the tree in a bag, please remove the tree from the bag before dropping it off. The tree will be chipped and used for various landscape projects around the township.

Now that the snow has arrived, Delta Township property owners are reminded that they need to make arrangements to clear the snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property.  Section 34-92  of the Delta Township Code of Ordinances requires that snow and ice be removed from the sidewalk within 24 hours of a snowfall. The code applies even if the property is vacant or the building on the premises is unoccupied.

Did you know that Delta Township does not have its own municipal road department? The Eaton County Road Commission and the Michigan Department of Transportation are responsible for all road maintenance, including snow removal, within the Township.

At the December 6, 2021 Board meeting, the Delta Township Board voted to approve the proposed Saginaw Highway Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA) Development and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Plan.

The plan was based on eligible tax-sharing entities participating in a tax-sharing agreement. All three taxing jurisdictions voted to adopt their respective taxing sharing agreements and include Lansing Community College, which adopted their tax sharing agreement on December 13, Eaton County, who adopted their tax sharing agreement on December 15, and the Delta Township District Library, who adopted their tax sharing agreement on December 20.

As the Township nears construction on its new Wastewater Treatment Plant, it is required to post its findings of No Significant Environmental Impact, as required by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). The notice is hereby posted for public input on the delta township website, linked below.
