Reopening Township Administration Offices

On June 8, the Delta Township Administration Offices will reopen to the public. The safety of our residents and our employees is our number one priority, that is why we have instituted a safe reopening plan structured to protect all persons entering our facilities.

At this time only the Delta Township Administration Building, located at 7710 W. Saginaw Highway, will be open to the public. Beginning June 8 through July 31, the hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The administration building will be closed on Fridays.

All three Fire Department Buildings, Utility Buildings, the Delta Township Enrichment Center, and the Delta Township District Library will remain closed to the public until further notice.

All playground equipment, outdoor exercise equipment, and all outdoor athletic courts including tennis courts, pickleball courts and basketball courts, are now open for use.

Please continue to socially distance per state guidelines and maintain hand-sanitizing practices before and after using any equipment.

We will be working on opening park restrooms very soon. As the river levels have dropped we will also work on installing the EZ Dock launch systems at Delta Mills and Willow Canoe launches as soon as possible.

Safety Measures

Below is a list of safety measures we have taken and requirements for those entering our facility:

Masks will be required in any enclosed building area. We ask that you please put your mask on before entering the building.
Plexi-glass barriers have been installed in all departments in the Administration Building to aid in social distancing and protection from airborne particles.
Floor markers have also been added to encourage social distancing.
The Township has instituted a strict and frequent regiment for cleaning public spaces including restrooms, handrails, and service counters. Please be patient as we disinfect between customers.
Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the building, we encourage everyone to use them when entering and leaving the building.

Online Services Encouraged

While our administration building will reopen, please remember we have staff available by phone and email to answer questions and encourage our residents to still access the many services we have available online by visiting Deltami.gov .

Water and Sewer bill payments (Payments can also be made using the drop boxes on the North and East sides of the Township Administration Building)
Starting Water/Sewer service
Assessing and Tax Information
FOIA Requests
Dog Licenses
Parks and Recreation information
Burn Permits

Please note that absentee ballot applications may also be dropped off using the drop boxes on the North and East sides of the Administration Building.

Delta Township to Join State

Work Share Program

- Saves nearly $250,000 -

Delta Township will join the State of Michigan’s Work Share program beginning June 8, 2020. The program will last through July 31, 2020 and save the Township approximately $250,000. The Work share program will furlough most employees at least 20% of their schedule and up to 60% in some cases. The move to the Work Share program is in response to budget shortfalls stemming from reduced revenue sharing caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

It is critically important that Delta Township maintains its commitment to fiscal responsibility by taking steps to ensure the Township remains financially stable and is able to continue to provide its essential services into the future.

During the Work Share period (June 8 through July 31) the Township will close its administrative offices on Fridays. This will allow for consistency of services Monday through Thursday. It will also allow staff to extensively clean and disinfect the building on Fridays for the safety of our staff and the public who needs to enter the building.

Services such as Fire, EMS, Water, and Sewer will continue to operate at all times. Delta will continue to maintain Parks and will continue to expand services as it is safe to do so. The Delta Township District Library will remain closed at this time.

As we have maintained throughout the COVID-19 crisis, staff will continue to be available to assist residents, businesses, and others with any Township related questions or services as necessary. As the Township administrative offices open, we still encourage the use of our drop boxes on the north and east sides of the building, electronic payments, and electronic permit requests to limit the amount of public in the building. Delta Township Recycling

Center Open

For a list of acceptable items, please visit our website at www.deltami.gov (click on Services and then Recycling)
Social distancing is expected and limited number of vehicles will be allowed in the center at one time.
Participants will be required to handle all items from vehicles to the appropriate recycling bins.
Electronics Recycling Events will tentatively resume as planned (June 13, July 11, August 15, September 12, and December 19).
The Recycling Center will be cleaned daily. Protective personal equipment (such as masks) is strongly recommended for all users.
Monthly Recycling Newsletters will resume in June. You may get the newsletter at the Recycling Center or on our website at www.deltami.gov (click on Services and then Recycling).

2020 Delta Rocks! Family Festival & July 3 Fireworks Canceled

It is with regret, that due to the extenuating circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, that Delta Township announces the cancellation of their annual Delta Rocks! Family Festival scheduled for Saturday, June 27 and the July 3 Fireworks Event.

These events are very important to Delta Township and the mid-Michigan region, however given the uncertainty of public gatherings and the amount of logistical planning that takes place, it is necessary to cancel these events.

Public Transportation

EATRAN Due to social distancing, EATRAN will be running buses at half capacity. This means, EATRAN is limiting how many passengers are on the buses at any given time.

EATRAN's main priority is to transport individuals to/from Medical appointments.

Rides to work and/or the store will be scheduled around the capacity of their vehicles.

Face masks are required for all passengers.
