StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for all ages to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children's book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you're directed to the next page in the story. StoryWalks® have been installed in 50 states and 11 countries. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. Beginning in September 2017, the StoryWalk® will be a permanent fixture along the Sharp Park path. In addition to pages from a picture book, each sign will feature a fun early literacy activity to do while walking. Different stories will be featured throughout the seasons. Library staff have chosen five book candidates for the inaugural StoryWalk® title. Updates to Zoning Ordinance
The Township has updated its zoning ordinance. The new zoning ordinance was part of a nearly 3-year effort, updating and replacing the previous zoning ordinance from 1990. The new zoning ordinance provides a more user friendly format for residents, existing and prospective businesses, and developers. Some highlights include less parking regulations and an overlay district for Saginaw Hwy. To view a full copy of the updated ordinance click, here.
