The Delta Township District Library will be one of many organizations celebrating childhood literacy at a free special event on Sunday, March 17, from 1-3:30 p.m., at Hannah Community Center in East Lansing.
Storybook characters, musical performances, and puppet shows will be featured to foster literacy skills and a love for reading. The Amazing Clark will present family-friendly stage shows with a funny twist on The Three Little Pigs. Performances will take place at 1:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The event also includes additional children’s activities, music with the Early On Band, and an opportunity for children to meet favorite storybook characters. This year’s featured characters are Curious George, Froggy, Ladybug Girl, Llama Llama, and Taco Dragon.
Each child will receive a free book while supplies last. The Hannah Community Center offers free parking and is also on CATA Route 26.
From March 9-23, early childhood agencies around the Greater Lansing area will have events at their sites featuring the book characters. A schedule of these events is available at
as a printable online brochure.
