A Chill in the Air!

As the weather cools, early darkness returns, the owls start hooting, and the trees start creaking, does your reading menu change to horror? Are you re-reading the classics like Dracula or everything Edgar Allan Poe wrote? Maybe trying a gothic novel or two or a ghost-in-the-attic tale? What about witches or werewolves? Is modern horror more your cup of hemlock? Have you discovered any 'cozy' horror to recommend to those of us who really don't like to be frightened while we read in the dark of night?

So whether you like being terrified or just want to know what to avoid, join us for a fearsome conversation.

Books Into Movies or TV

Good, bad, or indifferent—movies based on books are always a good debate topic! Did you love the All the Boys I've Loved Before or the new Baby-sitters Club? What about all those Stephen King movies, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter? Is it faithful to the book or the only similarity is the title? Do you have a favorite adaptation? Is the movie better (gasp!) than the book? Anything goes in this conversation!

Bring your examples and opinions - popcorn optional - for a lively discussion on book adaptations for TV and the big screen.

When? Thursday, March 31 @ 4pm
