Melissa "Missy' Rose, PT, DPT, C/NDT
Missy received her BS in PT from Temple University in 1990. She began her career at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD), where she worked from 1990-2009. Missy returned to school in 2017 at Arcadia University and received her DPT in 2018. She had the opportunity to work in multiple treatment environments while at CHKD, including outpatients, inpatients, NICU, PICU, rehabilitation unit and home health. She also worked in a variety of clinics including NICU follow-up, orthopedics, developmental, and spina bifida clinics. Missy currently works for Select Kids treating mainly infants and toddlers in the Early intervention setting. She is also an Adjunct Instructor for ODU's physical therapy program and is currently Secretary on the Board of Directors for Children's Assistive Technology Services (C.A.T.S.). Missy's intensive continuing education background includes training in the Neuro Developmental Treatment Association's (NDTA) Bobath Eight Week Pediatric Course in treatment of Children with Cerebral Palsy and the Advanced NDTA Baby Course. She is a member of the NDTA Association and has her NDT Certification. She is also a member of the APTA including the Virginia Chapter and Pediatric Section. Missy has presented many continuing education workshops on typical and atypical motor development, handling/treatment techniques for children birth to 21 years old with various neurological and musculoskeletal diagnoses utilizing the NDT Approach, neuroplasticity and how to use it your everyday treatments, as well as being a co-presenter at the 2019 Shining Stars Conference.
