Cychlorphine: New Highly Potent Opioid Detected

Recent alerts and articles sent to the Tall Cop network are highlighting the emergence of Cychlorphine, a powerful synthetic opioid that is raising serious concern among public health officials, forensic laboratories, and law enforcement. Early toxicology reports describe Cychlorphine as part of the highly potent “orphine” family of synthetic opioids and estimate that it may be up to 10 times stronger than fentanyl. That level of potency means that even extremely small amounts can be deadly.

Several reports from states such as Tennessee and Kentucky have already linked the substance to overdose deaths, and forensic laboratories have begun identifying cychlorphine in toxicology cases across multiple states and Canada. For communities conducting drug trend scans, this is another reminder that the opioid market continues to evolve rapidly.

Key concerns include:

  • Appearing in other drugs: Cychlorphine is reportedly being mixed into other substances, increasing the risk of accidental overdose.
  • Counterfeit pills: The opioid has been found in fake prescription tablets, making it difficult for users to know what they are taking.
  • Mislabeled products: Some individuals believed they were taking prescription medications or other substances but instead ingested tablets containing cychlorphine.
  • Medical emergencies: Several cases required immediate emergency medical treatment due to the drug’s extreme potency.
  • Ongoing trend: This development reinforces a pattern communities are already seeing high-potency synthetic opioids hidden in counterfeit or mislabeled products, making drug trend monitoring and community awareness more important than ever.

Thanks Tall Cop:

Tall Cop & The Speakers Network

  • "Absolutely love taking your class! It is so informative and it's always evolving with the trends, which is amazing for us officers that are watching it in real time! You had an amazing class today!"
  • "All of it was impactful and relevant. I really appreciated how he incorporated local information and even pictures into the presentation. It makes it more impactful to know what is happening right here in our own community rather than thinking it's something that's happening elsewhere. It was really eye opening to learn how much product is out there, how accessible it is to youth and young adults, and how it can be found pretty much anywhere. It has made me anxious for my own teen and young adult children learning that things are being packaged in ways to mislead or hide what's really in them."
  • "Your presentations were TOP NOTCH!!!! I will work with our people to see how we can bring you to the Seattle region. Thank you for the information, it was both eye opening and amazing research data you provided. You are saving lives my brother! Keep up the outstanding work!"
  • "I learned about new substances and was able to understand how "close to home" the issues are."
  • Officer Gomez: "Thank you so much for and spending your time with us. We have heard such positive feedback from students, staff, and families. We would love to have you back in the future. Thank you for all that you are doing to keep kids safe and helping families navigate this fallen world. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! I appreciate you!"
