Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical
Hair tells the story of the "tribe", a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the "Age of Aquarius" living a bohemian life in New York City and fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War.
This production will include subject matter not suitable for audience members under the age of 14. Viewer discretion is advised.

Mark Dickson: Construction to Commemorate
Presented by Gadsden Arts Center and Museum
Come see Construction to Commemorate, a 2011 monumental sculpture by Mark Dickson, created with welded steel and stainless steel that stands 7 feet tall. This sculpture is an entanglement of steel and fire and appears modern, while at the same time reveals elements of the distant past. The artist works in his studio in Railroad Square, Tallahassee, and teaches sculpture part time as a member of the adjunct faculty at North Florida College in Madison, Florida.

APOLLO 11: First Steps Edition

Experience the story of APOLLO 11 and learn about one of the greatest human achievements in IMAX. During a time where traveling to the moon was unthinkable, the brilliantly curated film pilots the audience through the lunar landing journey of avid preparation, anxious lift off and triumphant return. The film offers a distinctive feature from the documentary genre, without narration.

Enjoy a unique theatrical event set in some of Midtown's favorite businesses. Musicals on the Move will present songs from Broadway musicals at sites and businesses across Midtown Tallahassee. This one-night only walking cabaret experience will host a limited audience at show-specific venues, and ticketed guests will receive a map and an assigned tour guide to lead them through the experience.

Purple Martin String Quartet:
A Music for Food Concert
Hear the Purple Martin String Quartet play quartets by Philip Glass and Robert Schumann - beautiful works for an enjoyable chamber music experience. This concert is the second Music for Food Tallahassee event, a musician-led initiative to fight hunger in our community and monetary donations or non-perishable food items go directly to the local food pantry partner, Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

Alligators: Dragons in Paradise
Presented by Museum of Florida History
Through September 8, 2019
Explore the enduring fascination of the alligator and its symbolic role in Florida's environment and history at this exhibition. The exhibit covers the evolving nature of man's interaction with alligators-from early views as mysterious beasts, then as Florida novelties, and later threatened with extinction due to over hunting. Be sure to get your picture taken with the 13-foot alligator.

30th Anniversary Dance

Dance the night away as the Tallahassee Swing Band celebrates its 30
th
anniversary of Tuesday dances at the American Legion. The band first began its weekly Tuesday dances at the American Legion in July 1989 to keep big band-era music alive. This performance will be dedicated to the former band leader Elliot Toole, who passed away earlier this year.

This theme's translation into textile works is entirely subject to the artists' interpretations; whether it's exploring their own perspective or trying to capture someone or something else's.
