TCSD Regular Board Meeting Highlights

The Board met last Wednesday. Here are the highlights of the meeting:

  • The Board received a presentation from One Tam about the Bothin Marsh. Click here for more information about the research being done and the proposed solutions to address sea level rise and the health of the marsh.
  • Staff presented the proposed event schedule for 2022/23. Click here to review it. Some dates are still being finalized but the good news is that we are ramping back up and bringing back some much loved events as well as new fun things for the community.
  • The Board discussed park improvements and pickle ball use. Staff will return in October with policies based on direction from the Board.

September is National Preparedness Month, So Let’s Get Ready!

There's a lot to think about when preparing for real-time emergencies, so let's take it one step at a time. Getting prepared is within your reach! All month long, we'll be offering a tip of the week to help better prepare our communities. If we all prepare, our community is safer during a disaster and more resilient afterward.

Week 3: Gather & Organize Supplies

Gathering emergency supplies is easier than you may think, and you probably have most of what you need already in your home. Everyone in your household needs a Go Bag for when you need to evacuate, including the kids, the pets, and extended family members.

Whether you Stay or Go after a major disaster, plan to be on your own for 5-7 days. Include what you and members of your household will need to meet daily needs such as meals, sanitation, medication, and maintaining personal medical devices. A Go Bag contains items such as extra medication, snacks, water, a flashlight, and a change of clothes.

Remember to update your Go Bags and Stay Box as needs change and as people grow!

Fire Safe Marin

Evacuation isn't just about fleeing your home in a panic. It's about having a plan for how to safely leave your area in case of an emergency.  This month we are sharing a variety of tools and tips to help you and your family be ready for evacuation.

Be safe and be fire adapted.

We are entering the height of wildfire season and Marin County stands ready to evacuate if needed.

Join us on September 26th at 6pm for a live Wildfire Watch program: BEYOND GO BAGS - MARIN’S EVACUATION PLAN. Bring your questions and learn what to expect during an evacuation and what you can do to ready yourself and our community.
