Back to School!

Walking on the McGlashan trail yesterday, a gathering of egrets was observed. What a magical place this Valley is. Perhaps they knew it was the last day summer break and thus less people on the path. And yet how inspiring it is to see so many families and friends commuting by bike today. Wishing everyone a happy first day back!

Tia needs some helpers in her after school program (see below) and rides to and from school. Check the sign up list for what is still needed.

Join us tomorrow from 5 to 7pm at the Cabin for live music under the redwood trees! A friendly reminder to walk or bike if you can. We will have the parking lot open but space is limited. And check below to see your Creekside Unplugged Checklist - come prepared to have a great time!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Board Work Session Summary

The Board conducted a special work session at the TCSD main office/corporation yard. At the meeting, the Board met with field staff to discuss Solid Waste and Wastewater administration, operations, maintenance, equipment/vehicles, capital improvement projects, and policies as well as toured the facilities. The other item the Board considered and approved was the purchase of kitchen compost pails for all residential customers in a not-to-exceed amount of $30,000. These pails will be delivered to each household along with educational materials regarding it use and the need to divert food waste to the green carts and/or compost bins.

Tia Needs Helpers

School is back which means Tia is there, offering affordable childcare after school. She is looking for two helpers - one on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and one on Tuesday and Thursday - from 2-5pm.

This is a great job for someone with a flexible schedule - older students or adults who want to spend some time with kids in the afternoon.

If you or someone you know can help please email Camille at events@tamcsd.org or call the office at 415-388-6393.

Fee Increases for Certain Solid Waste Services Effective Sept 1st

Effective September 1, 2023, additional fee/charges for service will be increased to better reflect the actual cost of services. This is NOT the fee you pay for weekly refuse pick-ups. Those charges appear on the property tax bill. These are “fee/charges for service” discretionary fees that only customers who request the specific service pay for such as extra garbage bag pick-up.
