FY24-25 Adopted Budget At- A-Glance

The Board recently approved the Fiscal Year 2024-25 (FY24-25) Operating and Capital Improvement Budget. The fiscal year begins July 1 and ends on June 30. TCSD’s total combined operating budget for FY24-25 is approx. $10.7M and $8.9M in total revenue and expenses, respectively.

Compared to the FY23-24 adopted budget, the proposed FY24-25 budget reflects slight increases in overall revenues (approx. 4%) and expenses (approx. 2%).

Net revenues (revenue above expenses) are used to fund operating reserves as well as capital improvements. The revenues include a 2% and 4% increase in solid waste and wastewater service charges, respectively. These are the service charges you see on your property tax bill. All other fees for service such as facility rental fees, dumpster rentals, and sewer inspection fees are increasing by 2.4% rounded to the nearest dollar.  The 2.4% was based on the Bay Area Consumer Price Index (CPI) from February 2023 to February 2024. All the fee and service charge increases take effect on July 1, 2024.

The FY24-25 Capital Improvement Program budget (CIP) is approximately $2.3M. The majority of the budget is wastewater improvements such as sewer main line replacement. However, $314,000 is budgeted for miscellaneous improvements to TCSD facilities and parks such as painting the Community Center, corporation yard fence replacement, and repairing picnic tables.

In subsequent newsletters, we will feature budget information for the different departments.
