Fun Times at the Cabin!
Wow! What a wonderful season it has been of summer concerts. We started off making lemonade out of the lemons of a noise complaint at the Community Center and wow has this been some delicious lemonade! Every other week, the Cabin property has been packed with happy families, on bikes, on foot, bringing yummy food and drink, sharing time with friends and neighbors. We have had all sorts of bands join us, we have had face painting, we have had rock painting, we have had Tia visits on her designated bench, we have had a wonderful time! It is with mixed emotions that we welcome the last concert of the season this evening. But the great news is that is promises to be a ton of fun!
Join us for Tam Valley favorite - Marble Party! As well as a visit from our County Supervisor, Stephanie Moulon-Peters, and a presentation of ideas on how we can keep the Cabin a wonderful gathering place for years to come.
Next up - in just two weeks! - is Oktoberfest. Get your tickets while the deals last (see more below) and join us for our biggest event of the year under the giant tent at the Community Center!
Wishing you a safe and joy filled weekend!

Use Permit Appealed - No Debris Day This Year
Over the past several months, we have been reporting on the status of the use permit applications for 203 Marin Avenue (Tam Valley Community Center) and 305 Bell Lane (main office/corporation yard). We thought it would be helpful to recap the process to date and provide the current status. Unfortunately, the use permit for 305 Bell Lane has been appealed again. As a result, TCSD will be unable to hold a Debris/Shred Day this year.
Click here for and update from the General Manager about the background of the permit and appeal process.

Your Compost and Recycling Questions, Answered
Which waste bin do plastic caps and metal jar lids go into?
- Plastic lids should go into the trash. The plastic is too hard to recycle, so it's best to place it in the trash and the bottle into the recycling. If you do not, this will have to be done at the recycling facility, which adds an extra step and reduces the chances of your bottle being recycled.
- For metal lids, I would recommend putting most of them in the trash. While metal is recyclable, small metal caps often end up getting stuck or lost within the machinery. If you have a larger metal lid, like a 3-inch or larger lid, then it can be put into the recycling.
Our drivers have noticed that some of the compost pails have been ending up in trash cans. Please do not throw them in the trash if you do not need a pail! You can return the pails to the TCSD office by bringing them inside or leaving them outside.
Additionally, the second half of compost pails will be delivered the week of September 15th. So if you have not received a compost pail it will be be coming soon! Thank you for your patience as we got the delivery schedule figured out.

If you would like to ask a question about recycling or composting, send me an email at climate@tamcsd.org please email me with any and all waste questions! I will respond directly to you and it is possible your question will be featured in the newsletter to help educate other residents.
