Faux Spring? Enjoy Every Minute of It!

The sun is shining, it's staying light just a tiny bit later each day, bulbs are popping up, the earth is soaking up all the good rain. As always, be prepared, clean gutters and debris that may have built up, all while soaking up the sun and enjoying the warmer days.

The Crab Feed was so much fun! Thank you to all who joined us for an evening of delicious food and great company. A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who helped make it happen. With extra appreciation for Gretchen, Heath and Colleen who ran the kitchen like the pros that they are, all as volunteers! We say it over and over but we just would not have these amazing events without the support of this
community. So very grateful.

Be safe and enjoy a beautiful weekend!
TCSD Board Work Session Summary

At is January 25th meeting, the Board conducted its second study session regarding the preliminary Five (5) Year Solid Waste Rate Study prepared by R3 Consulting. The Study indicated that a 2% increase in solid waste rates per year would be sufficient to meet the operational and capital needs of TCSD over a five-year period. The Board directed staff to proceed based on this operational forecast model. Staff will return to the Board at its February 8th meeting with the Proposition 218 notice required for fee increases as well as the final analysis.

The public hearing to consider the fee increase is tentatively scheduled for April 12, 2023.
City of Mill Valley Partners with Local Community Group to Address “Bias by Proxy”

Did you know that Mill Valley community members call the police about Black people at nearly 20 times the rate they do about White people? In most of these calls, police find no cause for citation or arrest. Working together, the Mill Valley Police Department and Mill Valley Force for Racial Equity and Empowerment (MVFREE) have developed a simple tool to help prevent Bias by Proxy.

In Tam Valley, we are part of the unincorporated County and our calls for service go to the Sheriff's office. Yet, this Mill Valley information is still helpful for us to be aware of and the list of resources are very informative.

Please Stay Off the Grass

Have you noticed a portion of the grass field in Eastwood Park being fenced off? It’s part of our effort to allow the grass to rest and regrow during the winter.

Thank you for keeping out of the fenced area.
Job Opportunity

TCSD is looking for an Administrative Clerk. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the team in our Special District. Please review the job description and spread the word!

Now Accepting Applications for the Parks and Recreation Commission

We are pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the newly formed Parks and Recreation Commission that replaces the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. Want to help make life in Tam Valley even more fun? Consider joining this Commission.
