Feeling the Love

The Murder Mystery Dinner Theater wrapped up last weekend and what a joy it was to hear the laughter, see who guessed who dunnit and all the happy reviews of the food! Let's do it again next year! A HUGE thank you to the cast and crew for all their hard work and our part time workers and volunteers who came together to make this a very successful production!

The Senior "Bingo Bunch" is growing! We had a full house this week to celebrate Valentine's Day. What a great way to get out, see friends, have lunch and maybe win a few games in the process.

Tam Tuesdays Speaker Series featuring Mia Monroe speaking about how we can make Tam Valley even more butterfly friendly - sign up today with the link listed below! Movie Night is coming together for February 28th featuring Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. It's a free event and will be fun for the whole family!

The office will be closed on Monday, February 17th in observance of President's Day. No changes to solid waste pick up. Our offices will be open normal hours on Tuesday, February 18th.

Wishing you a safe and joy filled weekend!

Community Center Workshop

On February 12th at 5:30pm, prior to the regular Board meeting, the Board held a workshop regarding the preliminary concepts for the Community Center Masterplan. The Masterplan is a design concept for the desired functions and uses for the Community Center outdoor spaces. The Masterplan will include proposed improvements for the outdoor spaces which includes the backyard area, gravel parking lot, and the open “green” spaces adjacent to the gravel and paved parking lot.

Approximately 30 residents provided feedback to CMG Landscape Architecture (CMG) regarding their likes and dislikes of the various preliminary concepts displayed. The CMG presentation from the meeting is available here.

If you were unable to attend the workshop, there is still an opportunity for you to share your input:

Let us know your preferences for the various concepts and/or components of each concept. Attendees at the workshop were encouraged to mix-n-match components from each concept.

Please note, we need to receive your input by February 23 so we can pass the comments on to CMG. CMG is tentatively scheduled to bring a revised concept plan based on the feedback received at the workshop to the Board for review at the Board’s March 12th meeting.

We Need Your Support to Continue TCSD Events

TCSD has recently submitted two use permit applications to the County of Marin for 203 Marin Ave (Tam Valley Community Center) and 305 Bell Lane (TCSD main office and corporation yard) to allow TCSD to continue to provide services and community events for its residents.

Specifically, the use permit application for 203 Marin Ave. will allow TCSD to continue to have bands (amplified outdoor music) at Creekside Fridays, Oktoberfest, and Earth Day events at the Tam Valley Community Center. The use permit application for 305 Bell Lane will allow TCSD to continue to offer Debris Day twice a year as well as clarify what constitutes solid waste vehicle operations.

The applications are in response to threatened litigation against TCSD by a neighboring resident and a code enforcement action triggered by a resident’s anonymous complaint.

The Tamalpais Design Review Board (TDRB) is scheduled to consider the use permit applications at its March 5th meeting at 7:00pm in the Tam Valley Community Center.

It is very important that we demonstrate to TDRB community support for continuing TCSD events and operations at our current location.

We encourage you to e-sign a letter of support for the TCSD applications (click here.)

Thank you in advance for your support.
