Tamco/Atiso USA Joint European Venture

In June of this year, Barney Family Enterprises, Parent company to Tamco Paint, entered into a joint venture with Atiso Corporation. This is a joint venture, in which Tamco is still 100% owned by Bob & Tammy Barney, and our family. In this agreement, Tamco is acquiring an interest in Atiso International. Atiso is an American corporation with global facilities to help Tamco acquire raw materials as well as manufacturing Tamco Paint products in Europe. Tamco realizes the importance of securing a global presence in order to compete in the paint manufacturing business, which today's economy requires in order to survive and prosper.

This new joint venture will be called “Atiso USA, which will help Tamco expand into more markets in the automotive, fleet, marine, and aircraft painting industry. Atiso USA will be our purchasing company allowing us to buy our raw materials directly without going through a middleman. It is also the company which will import our products that we manufacture in Italy at our new plant, which enables us to manufacture many quality products at lower cost due to less regulation. Many of the raw materials we buy are from Europe and presently we are forced to buy these materials through middlemen which in turn can mark products up anywhere from 30 to 50%.

This joint venture will allow Tamco’s American made products to be sold into Europe, as well as to be able to produce European quality products for America, that are not available in America.
Our new state of the art facility in Italy manufactures body fillers and putty‘s, hand cleaners, solvents, reducers, isocyanate hardeners, European primers and clearcoats using all 100% exclusive European ingredients and resins. European resins and solvents are known for their quality; many of which are not available in America.

For example, Tamco Paint’s new body filler and putty series (Introducing to America in Sept. 2022) will be superior to other brands in this country. Using 100% pure European unsaturated polyester resins, combined with MEKP hardeners which are homogenized, something only done in Europe, will prevent pinholes, and other body filler failures that people are familiar with today. We will control every aspect of the manufacturer to ensure that this product is of the highest quality. Like many of our primers, our new body filler will be able to be put over modest rust, as well as aluminum, galvanized, fiberglass, plastic, all finishes and of course our primers.

The hand cleaner that Tamco will be making at our European plant is also superior to other paint hand cleaners we have ever tried or used. It is a unique formula which keeps your hands moist and soft yet removes the stubbornness of painting and ink stains.

This joint venture also helps us secure raw materials that we will need in America. One fact that I have informed our customers is that most paint raw materials are no longer made in America. Many are made in China, and we are forced to buy much of Tamco’s raw materials from China --Where Atiso also has locations in which will allow us to buy direct. But many of these materials are still made in Europe, with very high standards of manufacturing. This will give us access to these raw materials without going through a distributor in America as we do today which adds on another 30 to 50% margin that we and of course our customer has to pay.

Also, this will give us some great savings, as there are less shipping expenses and no duty from the European Union. Hopefully this will also allow us to start selling Tamco branded products in Europe through a warehouse that we will have in Italy at a later time.

We are looking for new products that will be added to the Tamco line manufactured by Tamco and not Private Labeled.
We will also be adding some more ancillary products that will be made exclusively for Tamco Paint by other companies in Europe, some of which we are already selling today but it will have a better advantage in purchasing. Our solvent hand pump sprayer is made in Germany and will last for a long time, unlike the cheap China made ones that you see being sold in America.
We are very proud of our strong growth over the past two years especially, which has enabled us to come in major force in the automotive fleet, marine, and aircraft painting industry. Tamco will continue to see growth even in these hard times that we’re all facing. By having the ability to buy directly from manufacturers, and also having another source plant that we can manufacture from will greatly ensure that Tamco can continue to produce the best products at the lowest prices possible and sell directly to our customers.
Sincerely,

Bob Barney
