Florida Senate Bill 404 would force minors seeking an abortion to get consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Leading healthcare organizations oppose mandatory parental consent laws.
Most teens, like M.F., seek the counsel of one parent or guardian in their abortion decision making. Teens who do not, generally have good reason. Passage of this bill would endanger vulnerable teens and put them at risk of punishment or abuse.
