A Preview of Teacher Appreciation

We were blessed by generosity of Dr. Leslie Giglio-Betts '90 and Dr. Marc Betts P '17, '20 & '24 as they gave our faculty, staff and administration a preview of the love they will experience during Teacher Appreciation Week in the week of May 6-10th. They hosted a lunch and visited with teachers to express their gratitude to our for the role Tampa Catholic played in shaping the high school years of their three daughters, Francesca '17, Rosalia '20 and Lucia '24.

We'll miss the daily interactions, but we know it won't be the last we see of this gracious and supportive Crusader family.

Teacher Appreciation Week Approaches

During the week of May 6th-10th, our teachers will enjoy a week of fun dress themes and special treats provided by the Crusader Parents Club. Our Teacher Appreciation Week Chairs are returning this year with bigger and better plans, but they need your help and support.

Please consider helping with the supplies on the Teacher Appreciation Wish List. Your purchases from the wish list are eligible for parent service hours.

Contact our chairs Olaya Benitez P '26 and Jilda Garcia P '26 to see how you can help and be involved.

Tampa Catholic is participating in the School Culture 360™ Survey developed by researchers at Johns Hopkins University.

Taking this survey will give the Administrative Team at TC valuable feedback about the school environment.

Please follow this link to complete the Adult survey before April 24th:

https://jhuedu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7QJNyJUrxeoMtwy?Source=StPetersburg _CatID

This survey measures critical elements of school culture that reflect stakeholders’ beliefs about their schools. School Culture 360™ highlights elements of a school community that include:

  • School Climate – Characteristics of the school environment that foster academic achievement and positive interpersonal relationships
  • Academic Climate – Characteristics of the learning environment that promote high expectations, teacher support of student learning, and peer support of student learning
  • Civic Open Classroom Climate – The routine experience of deliberation and viewpoint diversity
  • School Mission and Vision – The stakeholders’ beliefs about the school’s commitments and values

This survey is completely anonymous and will be used for secondary research. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary; there are no penalties for not participating.

Parents/guardians:  Please complete one survey per household. Separated parents may complete one per parent.

By sharing your thoughts about your school’s environment, you will provide useful insights that may otherwise go unnoticed. Thank you so much for your help.

Reminder: Crusader Parent Club Kickoff Meeting

We will have a meeting next week on April 30th in the Learning Lab to welcome new parents to our Crusader Parents Club and to officially launch the 2024-25 Parent Involvement Program.

Please join us for either the morning session at 8:30am or the evening session at 6:00pm. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to become more involved, to meet some fellow parents, and to hear about the activities and events supported by the Crusader Parents Club.

FINAL CALL:

Tracking Crusader Parent Involvement Hours

Crusader Parent Involvement hours are tracked in X2VOL. X2VOL will allow you to join a pre-defined opportunity or to add a personal project, to upload your receipts and to keep track of your parent hours.

Each family will have one account for tracking parent service hours. All hours performed on behalf of Crusader Parent Involvement hours should be tracked in that parent account. The parent account and opportunities are separate from the student accounts and opportunities.

Crusader Parent Involvement hours must be performed to directly benefit Tampa Catholic High School. For example, working for three hours at a non-profit organization will not earn parent service hour credit, but acting as a chaperone to TC students working at a non-profit as requested by a TC faculty or staff member will earn parent service hours. Writing a check to a specific team or TC organization will not earn parent service hours, but providing a meal to a specific TC team or organization will earn parent service hours once the X2VOL entry is completed with a receipt attached.

Donations of items will be credited at a rate of one hour per $40 spent on donations. A receipt must be attached to X2VOL in order to be credited for a donation.

Questions regarding parent X2VOL accounts and activity may be directed to Missy Vivino.

If you have pictures, announcements or exciting student news you would like to see in the Crusader Parents Club Newsletter, please share it with
