Dear Friends,

The New Year is upon us, and with it comes a wave of relief. All of our knitted and crocheted (and felted, and woven...) gifts have found their way to their new homes, and it's time to play with fiber "just because." We jokingly refer to this as our season of selfish knitting. It's also a great time for taking on challenges and learning new skills, and we have some wonderful technique classes on our calendar this month to help you do just that. Be sure to watch your Emails, Facebook & Ravelry for more news and inspiration!

Classes with Guest Designer
Lisa Ellis
Norwegian Thimble Knitting
Norwegian Thimble Knitting is an old European technique revisited. This class introduces the knitter to both double knitting as well as Fair Isle using this thimble to simplify both knitting forms. It's the ideal introductory class to double knitting in the round and 2-color Fair Isle. Once you get the hang of it, this thimble will be your best friend. Beginning Intermediate class, must be able to knit in the round.

Class Dates: Saturday, January 23rd
Class Time: 10 am - noon
Class Cost: $40 + supplies (list provided at registration)

Moebius Knitting
Moebius knitting is a twisted way to knit without twisting at all. It makes no sense until you give it a try and then you become hooked on this crazy creation. It's all about the caton and the bind off and everything in between is just knitting!

Class Dates: Saturday, January 23rd
Class Time: 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Class Cost: $25 + supplies (list provided at registration)

Twined Knitting
This Swedish technique, in which both ends of the same ball are alternately knit, producing a firm, wind and rain resistant fabric that's ideal for mittens, hats, ski gaiters and fingerless gloves. We'll cast on the 2 yarns, work a twined ribbing (so to speak) and finish with twined knitting. It's magnificent in a varigated yarn and is guaranteed to keep your head, hands and feet warm! Ironically, it also uses less yarn. Tricks of the trade will be taught. It's a weekend project and perfect for gifting.

Class Dates: Saturday, January 23rd
Class Time: 2 pm - 4 pm
Class Cost: $40 + supplies (list provided at registration)

You will start your project in class, and you may attend as many sessions as you need-the class is ongoing. Once you have completed your need for help, but later need help again, you can always attend Stitch Dr Tuesdays. Class Time: 11:15-12:45

This is not a "How to Knit" class-you should already know the basics and how to read a pattern. Stitch Doctor is a group session-private help sessions are available at other times, as listed above.

Please bring the project you need help with, including needles, yarn and pattern (one project at a time). Stay part of the time, or the whole time!
