Dear dancer,
You are invited to participate in a very special
Tap it Out (On-Line)
event in celebration of Tap Dance, our Tap Dance History, our Tap Dance Community and in this case also Tap City's Twentieth Anniversary!
As you may know, we had to postpone Tap City this year until next
July 5 - 10, 2021.
So, instead, we've decided to present a number of virtual experiences this July 6-11 and Tap it Out On-Line will be the final event and presented on
SATURDAY, JULY 11TH
at 12 noon, 4pm and 8pm. EST (see below a link to other events)
The ATDF is seeking entries from dancers of all ages and all levels (professional and recreational) and from all around the world. We hope to present at least 100 dancers in this project. Participation in this event is FREE!
Here is how it works:
All you have to do is dance to ONE chorus of the
Shim Sham
with an optional 2nd chorus of improvisation to show off your special talents. This can be performed from your living room, rooftop, garden or back porch. Wear what ever you want. Be creative. I want this to be fun! You can wear tap shoes or not. It doesn't matter unless you REALLY want to be heard, especially if you plan on improvising as well.
Step 1:
Record yourself performing the Shim Sham to the
music below
- horizontal orientation, please!
Step 2:
Post your video on Instagram by
June 29, 2020!
Tag @atdforg and #tapitout2020! Tell us your name, location, and a few sentences about yourself!
Step 3:
Stay tuned to the
ATDF Youtube Page
for the LIVE presentation of Tap It Out at 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm EST!
*Please Note:
Your participation is NOT guaranteed if the footage quality is not good or if you can't keep time, etc. ATDF has the ultimate decision of what is included in the final video. By submitting your video you are agreeing to grant ATDF all permissions to use, reproduce and publish said video indefinitely; to alter the same without restrictions; and to copyright the same. You also release ATDF and its board of directors, officers, employees, legal representatives, and assigns from any and all such claims, actions, and liability relating to its use of said creative work, photographs, videotapes, and/or likeness.
We look forward to seeing everyone and I hope you remain safe and healthy through these turbulent times. Thanks in advance for joining in with the fun.
