10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

“A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT!!!”
Today is Thursday, 7/21 and I failed AGAIN to post my sermon yesterday-I AM TRULY SORRY!!!
I woke up with a very positive message and fully intended to post BUT..................
I had a “regularly” scheduled checkup with my primary care doc.
For the past 60 plus years these doctor visits were mostly routine!!
Go to the dentist-get a cleaning and perhaps-at worst-a cavity filled.
Go to the eye doctor the same-maybe a different lenses prescription.
I never feared or dreaded any of these, even the dentist which many folk hate.
JUST routine doctor appointements.
So, AFTER PRAYER, I went and spent an entire hour with my doc.
It turns out that an abnormality was noted in a “ROUTINE” yearly chest X ray that the radiologist had signed off as “UNCHANGED” was captured by my personal doctor.
It was clearly noted that I “POSSIBLY” have a lung condition noted as “ATELECTASIS OR INTERSTITIAL CHANGE.”
As such, I have been scheduled another MRI exam with contrast sometime in August.
SHOCKED AND ALARMED, I immediately began questioning the fine doctor only to receive vague and routine answers and then OF COURSE, I/WE have WEBMD, THE MAYO AND CLEVELAND CLINIC all for free online!!!!!!!!!!!
In their diagnosis-OF COURSE-they list the dreaded C word as a possible cause..........
Try as I might, that indeed spoiled my good day and good word for yesterday.
A few, short years ago, a dear and much respected colleague of mine received word that he had cancer-his retort to me was that he “had just punched his ticket to Glory!”
He still remains today a resident of planet earth and is doing well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The “news” today is our President has now contracted the lower case word C-COVID.
The world is once again alarmed with this lower case C word as well as Monkeypox, and even a report a few minutes ago of a case of POLIO in NYC.
Did not our Lord and Savior prophesy such:
Matthew 24:5-8 (KJV)
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Brethren, simply following today's “news” should suffice to herald SOMETHING is afoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe our Lord Jesus was simply pointing out HOW TO PRAY.
He is instructing you and me TODAY to PRAY SPECIFIC PRAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you need BREAD, ask for bread SPECIFICALLY!!!
IF YOU NEED OF WANT FISH ASK FOR FISH SPECIFICALLY!!!

In closing, in my TOO MANY trips to WEBMD and too man other medical web sites, I came across the technique of radiation TARGETING as an effective means to combat many cancers.
This method TARGETS the known site of tumor and is AIMED SPECIFICALLY at the offending mass!!
TODAY, if you know the specific need you have, try TARGETING your PRAYERS and efforts SPECIFICALLY at your need.
Lastly, I have about 30 days BEFORE I undergo further testing, and I hope and plan to PRAY SPECIFICALLY for a positive outcome for myself.
I HUMBLY request your thoughts and PRAYERS for myself also, and, as always, for my wife and daughter, little Amanda.
WE NEED A HEALING TOUCH OF THE MASTER!!!
