Pinellas County Issues "Safer At Home" Order. Read The Summary Here

The Pinellas County "Safer At Home" order order to help curb the spread of COVID-19 goes into effect at noon today. Section D of the order requires all non-essential businesses that remain open to post a notice (in a form established by the County Administrator) that essentially explains the requirements of the order. In order to help our non-essential businesses be compliant with the County’s Order, the Sheriff has asked our Police Department to help his deputies distribute the posting cards directly to the businesses.

Tarpon Springs Police Officers will begin distributing these required business posting cards today. While doing this, our officers will adhere to strict hygiene guidelines and social distancing requirements. The Sheriff’s Department has established a tip line to answer questions about the order at 727-582-TIPS (8477). The number is included on the hand out.

While Safer at Home restrictions are in place, there are measures we can take as a community to support our local businesses. Here are 5 simple things everyone can do:

Carry-out and Delivery. You don't have to cook! And with grocery store shelves empty, get a take-out or delivery from your favorite restaurant.
Buy Gift Cards. They'll come in handy when times are better, so buy a gift card now from your favorite boutique or restaurant to use later.
Shop Online. Many local businesses sell online and some recently created online purchasing options. Stay home and shop from your computer or phone.
Buy Local Produce. Support local markets buy shopping at produce and specialty shops, like Renardo's Produce at 630 S. Pinellas Ave., Pelican Point Seafood next to Rusty Bellie's, and Acropolis Meats & Deli at 148 E. Tarpon Ave. Just maintain a safe distance!
