Tasveer Launches Open Mic Night

Catch Tasveer Open Mic Night last Thursday of every month!

WHEN: Thursday, Jan 27th, 2022 (4th Thursday of every month) 7 pm to 8 pm;

Sign-up by 6 pm on the day of the event 

WHERE: Online, Link provided upon registration

WHO: South Asians and/ or anyone with South Asian content


Tasveer invites South Asian artists, amateurs and dreamers to showcase your musings, rousings, yearnings, instruments, poems, skits, comic pieces, plays or whatever talent you want to bring to us. Performers will be selected in random order and each participant will have up to 7 min to showcase their talent.

Deadline to participate: 6:00 pm PST on the day of the event.

TasveerTV Launches on February 4th

TasveerTV is the first of its kind virtual cinema platform dedicated to independent South Asian content and creators. This platform will be your virtual theater with specially curated content from our favorite South Asian creators. Through TasveerTV, you can stream some of the most thought-provoking South Asian cinema including a range of fiction features, documentaries, and short films, and watch them from the comfort of your own home! Every month, TasveerTV offers a curated selection of films that will be available to rent as VOD.

New Staff Members

Tasveer is happy to welcome the new Program Manager and the new Marketing Manager, who come with a wealth of experience and qualifications and a strong mission of social justice!

Ishita Saran

Program Manager

Ishita Saran is a hospitality professional with over 9 years of experience in customer relations and sales. She has a Bachelors's in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Lucknow, and a Master's in Hospitality and Tourism from Vatel, France. Ishita comes from a culturally diverse background having lived in Oman, Nigeria, France, India, and now the US. She currently lives in Haymarket, VA with her husband and 4-month old daughter. In her free time, she loves watching movies and reading books. She loves trying out new restaurants over the weekends and going for long drives.

Manasi Mishra

Marketing Manager


Manasi is a social development professional who uses marketing and outreach for powerful storytelling. She works towards social change through community-centered practice, using an intersectional feminist, anti-racist lens. She has over 10 years of experience in marketing and program management for nonprofits, social entrepreneurship, and law. She graduated from Michigan State University with an MS in Community Sustainability with a focus on gender and social justice where her research focused on collective action and solidarity building amongst rural women artisans in India. In India she worked to support artisan-based enterprises across the country, to become sustainable through entrepreneurship and marketing-related capacity building. Manasi is an art lover, a dance lover, a travel addict, and a foodie.

Tasveer welcomes Samir Junejo to our wonderful and diverse board!

Samir Junejo


Samir Junejo is a policy counsel with the Washington State Senate where he has staffed health care, behavioral health, human services, and technology issues for the Senate Democratic Caucus. He's also served on the King County Civil Rights Commission and as President of the South Asian Bar Association of Washington. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Seattle University School of Law in 2016. He also received a minor in film studies from Washington State University, where he was also the film critic for the college newspaper. He was born and raised in and around the Seattle area and is proud to serve on Tasveer's board.
