Last month, I, our Gift Buyer, and our co-owner Kristen Gilligan went to the Las Vegas Gift Show. We are always first and foremost a bookstore, but we love providing our customers with the option of finding an educational game, a fun puzzle, or any gift that brings a child joy.
Among the many things we're excited to share with you in the coming months, we found some great, small puzzles and brain games that are perfect to add on to a book selection, as well as a new-to-us kids company that makes matching puzzles that are ideal for littles just beginning to develop hand-eye coordination.

"This book is about a 10-year-old boy whose father is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The boy, Foster, experiences drastic changes in his family dynamics and in himself, too. I liked the frankness of the writing and feel it would appeal to children who are going through a similar situation with a family member. However, Foster character feels much younger than 10, and readers who are looking for a happy ending will be disappointed. If you're looking for realistic fiction for students who may be enduring a hardship and want a relatable character, then this is the book to choose! --
