The 36th annual Tau Open Golf Tournament was held April 16 and 17 at Lakeway Country Club’s Yaupon and Live Oak Golf Courses. Eighteen teams participated.

The Oasis Restaurant, known for its stunning sunset views over Lake Travis, was the venue for this year's tournament banquet.

The winning team was determined by a horse race playoff marshaled by the Lakeway Pro. Low gross and net for both flights were in the horse race. The “Chuck Tuck Trophy” was awarded to the team with the highest gross score.

The 14th annual Denton Cooley Tau Classic Golf Tournament was played on May 26, rescheduled from its original date of May 19, which was rained out. Thirteen of the original 17 teams were able to play in the rescheduled event at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course in Houston. Kappa Sigma brothers and friends played a four-man scramble and enjoyed a delicious pulled pork sandwich lunch catered by Prince’s Hamburgers.

The Trophy for Low Net score was awarded to last year's champions: Peter Kaldis (Denton Cooley’s grandson), Tripp Kimball, Robert Plumb and John Plumb. Kaldis, second from right, is wearing his late grandfather’s vintage cap that he often wore for tournaments.

The Low Gross team with an impressive score of 56: Mark Hablinski '73, Philip Hablinski, Bill Finnegan '75 and David Gardner.
