A Message from Noelle

As we prepare to send out tax bills at the end of this month, our commitment to delivering you 5-star service is stronger than ever.

I’m excited to share several updates and reminders designed to make paying your property taxes easier and more convenient.

First, we've added two new secure property tax drop-boxes, one located at our Cape Coral location and the other at our Lehigh Acres location. These are in addition to the drop boxes at the Downtown and South Fort Myers offices. These 24/7 drop boxes allow you to drop off a check any time, day or night.

Additionally, all service centers have self-service kiosks. Visit one of our six service centers to pay your bill and print a receipt on the spot. When you use an e-check, there are no additional charges or fees. If you want to drop a tax payment with one of our Customer Service Representatives, join the "appointment line" and drop off your payment at the Check-in and Information Desk.

Finally, you can pay electronically from the comfort of your own home by visiting our payment portal. Again, paying with an e-check is free, and you can download and/or print your receipt.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We remain committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our community.

Sincerely,

Educating Our Community

The Lee County Tax Collector’s Office is sharing helpful information with groups across our community. This year, we’ve presented at the Rotary Club of Cape Coral, Fort Myers Rotary, local public libraries, the North Fort Myers Civic Association, and more.

If your organization is interested in hosting a presentation with Tax Collector Noelle Branning, we’d love to hear from you! Visit leetc.com/contact-us/speaker-request-form/ to connect with us and schedule a presentation.

Spreading Joy This Holiday Season

This holiday season, we are proud to partner with Child Care of Southwest Florida (CCSWFL) for their annual Toy Drive. CCSWFL provides affordable, high-quality early learning for children and families in our community, and we’re honored to support their mission.

From November 17 to 21, you can help bring joy to local children by donating a new, unwrapped toy at any of our six service centers: Downtown Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, South Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, and Bonita Springs.

Together, let’s make the season brighter for children and families in need. Thank you for joining us in this important effort!

Supporting Charity Partners

Last fiscal year, we were proud to partner with the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) and Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. (ACT). Both of these organizations provide critical services that make a real difference in our community.

Thanks to the generosity of our team and customers, through our candy bar fundraiser, we were able to raise more than $3,000 for each charity.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that our charity partner for Fiscal Year 2026 is the Children’s Advocacy Center!

Partnerships like these are important because they allow us to come together as a community, raise awareness for vital causes, and provide support to local organizations.

Kids Tag Art

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Kids Tag Art, our annual program that showcases the creativity of local students through unique front-end license plate designs.

Fifth graders in Lee County public elementary schools are currently in the design phase, bringing their artistic visions to life. We can’t wait to share these vibrant designs with the community and continue supporting arts education in our schools!

Take a look at this photo from our recent school visit with Sunny, the Kids Tag Art mascot. Sunny brought smiles and energy as we celebrated creativity and community with local students!

Property Tax Season FAQs

Q: Who do I call with questions about my property value?

A: If you have questions about the value of your property, please contact the Lee County Property Appraiser at (239) 533-6100 or visit leepa.org.

Q: Why is my tax bill higher than my TRIM notice?

A: Your tax bill is higher than your TRIM notice because it includes non-ad valorem assessments (assessments based on services provided like stormwater, solid waste, etc.). The TRIM notice does not include non-ad valorem assessments.

Q: How do I know if my payment was received?

A: Visit our property tax payment website and enter your name or address in the search field. Select your record. The account history will display the tax year and show PAID or UNPAID. Please allow ample time for the post office to deliver the mail. Payments will be processed within 2–3 business days once received.

Q: Who do I call with questions regarding the ad valorem and/or non-ad valorem taxes and assessments?

A: For these assessments, you will need to call your Levying Authority. Contact information and phone numbers can be found on the front of your tax bill.

Q: Why did I get a tax bill for the full year when I just bought the property?

A: Property taxes are accounted for when closing on a property and charged or credited for your portion by the closing agent. The tax bill for the full year is sent to the current owner of record. Refer to your closing statement or call your title company or attorney if you have questions.
