We have an outstanding health care team of certified navigators that help individuals and families enroll for free or low-cost health insurance plans through the NY State of Health Marketplace. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
HWCLI connects Long Islanders with SNAP benefits by assisting with applications and enrollment and providing necessary education and outreach through community events at the grassroots level. SNAP provides nutrition assistance to eligible individuals and families. Dental Financial Assistance for Veterans | |

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in partnership with NYU Dentistry’s Veterans Oral Care Access Resource (VOCARE) is helping Veterans with blood cancer gain access to dental care. Any Veteran, regardless of dental benefit class, who requires dental procedures to begin lifesaving therapy for a blood cancer, or as a consequence of therapy for a blood cancer, will be eligible for financial assistance to cover the costs of dental services.
Care will be provided at the NYU Dentistry Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities. Although treatment takes place in New York City, the program is available to all Veterans as long at they reside in the U.S., or a U.S. territory, and can travel to New York City. All expenses for the required dental care will be covered, as long as funding is available. Veterans can receive services more than once. Covered expenses include, but are not limited to, extractions, root canals, jaw surgery, dentures, cavity fillings, and gum disease.
To apply, call an LLS Information Specialist at (800) 955-4572 and a knowledgeable Specialist will assist you in determining your eligibility and help you apply.

In collaboration with affected counties, New York State has developed this online form allowing residents to self-report damages to their homes and/or businesses. The purpose of this form is solely to collect information that may help State and local officials identify supplemental damages to develop and augment potential requests for available federal assistance programs. Please note, this form is NOT an application for relief programs.
Please note:
- Do not use this form to report immediate, life-threatening needs. Call 911.
- Reporting damage is a voluntary activity and is not a substitute for reporting damage to your insurance agency, nor does it guarantee disaster relief assistance.
- Please submit one survey per affected housing unit or business.
- This form is for damages that occurred in New York State only.

Nassau County HOME Down Payment Assistance Program | |

The Nassau County HOME Down Payment Assistance Program will provide eligible first time homebuyers with up to $50,000 towards down payment/closing costs towards the purchase of an eligible new or existing single-family home, provided that the applicant is income eligible and meets all program requirements. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funding has been exhausted.
Applications are now open and will be accepted through March 6th, 2024, although it is suggested that you apply earlier to meet the requirements. People experiencing a mental health crisis have a new way to reach out for help in the U.S., they can simply call or text the numbers 9-8-8. This system includes someone to call, someone to come and somewhere to go when experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. 988 is more than a number, it is an immediate connection to highly trained, local crisis counselors to provide emotional support and assistance for behavioral health crisis and suicide prevention and provides connections to services in the community for support and recovery. | | |

Molloy University’s School of Business is offering area nonprofits an opportunity to work with a team of faculty, alumni, and students over the course of a semester to assist in addressing an organizational issue. The Molloy team will act as consultants to explore your pressing needs and develop turnkey solutions. Similar to the Capstone projects our MBA and business students take part in, this will be a hands-on collaboration that will require input and feedback from you or your staff.
Members of organizations operating as 501(c)(3) public charities who need assistance with specific challenges are invited to complete this application (please submit only one application per organization). Past projects have focused on branding, marketing, fundraising, data collection, website development, and more. This is a skilled-based volunteering program that encourages students, faculty, and staff to apply their expertise in a volunteering capacity. For example, UX/UI students can work on updating a Non-Profit organization’s website, outlining the plans for an app, or even interior design/architecture students can consult on a space. Overall NYIT can source students for a specific project that an organization has in mind- whether long or short-term projects and even simply helping at events. Adelphi University’s Center for Nonprofit Leadership invites applications for an impactful and transformational fellowship designed to support nonprofit executive leaders. This groundbreaking program is built for leaders of nonprofit organizations to receive the education, coaching, and a supportive community needed to enact their commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Small groups of CEOs, Presidents, board members, DEI Directors, HR Directors, and other high-level leaders from organizations are offered an opportunity to apply to join a cohort of Fellows to proceed through 12 monthly retreats starting in February 2024.
