What is a donor-advised fund?  FeatureStory
Like a combined charitable savings and checking account, a donor-advised fund allows you to give to your favorite causes now, while growing funds for the future. Plus, it's tax-smart and more affordable than you may think. Could it be right for your charitable giving?

Drowning is the second-leading cause of injury death among children ages 1-14, according to the CDC. The Akron Area YMCA is combatting this statistic through its Safety Around Water program, which provides water safety training for school-aged children. Akron Community Foundation awarded $17,500 to the program in its recent grant cycle.

Sugar Plum Tour
The 16th annual Sugar Plum Tour, showcasing five homes in Bath, Copley, Firestone Park and Highland Square, will take place Sunday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the tour will support the Gay Community Endowment Fund. 
 
New fund helps Wadsworth seniors attend collegenewfunds
The David and Sandra Nedoh Scholarship Fund was established at the end of September to provide scholarships to Wadsworth High School seniors who have performed well in school but need financial assistance to pursue a degree at a four-year college or university. Two donor-advised funds were also established this quarter to support their founders' favorite charitable causes.
