Teacher Appreciation Week

Hello Dolphin families!  May 1st-5th is Teacher Appreciation week and we need your help to make this a special week for all of our amazing teachers and staff at LSE. The theme for the week is " The Best Teachers in the World! " and so we will be providing them with an internationally-inspired treat each day of the week.  Please view the list and consider donating needed items so we can make this a special week for all the people who make this school a special place for our children. Please note next to each item when it is needed, as items will be needed on a specific day.  All items can be turned into the front office or dropped off at car line.  Please label any non-disposable containers with your child's name so it can be returned. Have You Walked on the Walking School Bus?

Have you and your Dolphin always wanted to try out the Walking School Bus? We have two fun events coming up that you are going to love being a part of! National Ride Your Bike to School Day, May 10, and the Walking School Bus Walkability Study, May 17. Both events will have special guest Walkers/Riders and some fun prizes. Please stay tuned for more information. If you would like to be a part of the Walkability Study but can't participate in the walk, Contact Kalynne Morris with your answer to this question: "My student would walk if _____." Your input will be shared with Healthy Central Florida and will help make safer walking routes for our Dolphins.
Perseverance, Keep Trying
This months Character Ed trait is Perseverance.  Perseverance is sticking with a task and not giving up even when it's hard and you are the only one that is doing the right thing.  Perseverance starts at home where children learn to keep trying even after they have fallen off their bike.  Where they learn to practice writing their name over and over because it will get better and easier.  Encourage your children to show perseverance in "little things" so they are ready for greater opportunities in the future!" Lake Sybelia Needs You....

Be a Volunteer Next Year!

DID YOU KNOW? In March, PTA voted to make 2017's Fall Fundraiser a Holiday Market, open to both school families and to our wonderful community!
(don't worry, Dolphin Dash isn't going anywhere--it will still be held as a school-wide, community-building event!)
This new fundraiser has great potential to earn money for our school and we need one to two fearless leaders to make it happen! It's always fun working with a friend--grab your partner in crime and contact Selena Fettig or Erin Heston if you're interested in co-chairing this event!
