Credential Programs
March 2022
It is usually around this time that we start to anticipate next year and make plans based on what we have learned. As you begin to look to the future remember to take some time to reflect on the good that you did. It is human nature to think of the things that did not go as we had hoped and make plans to change those things. Don't forget to look at the things that did go well and think about how to polish them up or expand them. This is a wonderful time to be in education. We have new flexibilities, we have learned lessons, we know a lot about technology, we are back in the classroom! Take advantage of those things as you look to the 22/23 school year.

In honor of the birthday of Dr. Seuss, I thought I would share one of my favorite quotes. "It is better to know how to learn than to know"

Happy Planning!

With gratitude,
Stacy

Send all passing TPA and RICA reports to Stacy as soon as you receive them. They will be added to your formal recommendation for your credential.

Candidates
Pink Slips and non-reelect notices: If you find yourself receiving one of these notices, take a deep breath, everything is going to be OK. Many very successful teachers have left positions (for various reasons) early in their careers and gone on to many successful and happy years in the classroom. Sometimes it is a matter of finding the right “fit” in a district, school, or grade level. The good news is that this is a great time to be looking for a teaching job. As you finish out your current contract, it is important to remember a few things:
  • Don’t panic! Update your resume, go onto edjoin, apply for jobs, attend job fairs. Spend time thinking about what you do and do not want in your next position. Teachers are being hired on the spot at job fairs so you want to know what you will accept before you go.
  • The students still need you to do the best possible job until the final day in June.
  • You want a good letter of reference. Be sure that they can say that you did your best for the kids every day that you were there.
  • Do not burn bridges! You never know when you will meet people again in your career or who will be contacted about you.
  • The other teachers in the school are not to blame.
  • Every experience that we have makes us grow. What have you learned from this year and how will that make you a stronger teacher in the future? A growth mindset is very important right now.
  • Finish your induction work and complete the year. Once it is finished you can transfer the completed work to your new job. If you have questions please give us a call.
