Credential Programs
January 2022
Welcome 2022! I hope that everyone had a nice break and took the time to rest and refresh. I am looking forward to reviewing all of your ILP documents in the coming days. I am always so invigorated by the wonderful things that you are doing in your classroom. I hope that you are taking this opportunity after a short break to reconnect with your students and reestablish your classroom routines. This is a great to to practice procedures and routines. As we move into this second semester, it is my hope that you take some time to reflect on the good things about being a teacher. It is human nature to look at the things that do not go as we plan. Take the time to focus on the things that do go well and the students to whom you make a difference.

With gratitude,
Stacy

National Board Certification Incentive and Subsidy Program
The Budget Act of 2021 has reestablished the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification Program. This program awards $25,000 for a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) who agrees to teach for five years at a high priority school. There is also a $5,000 subsidy program for any teacher who initiates the process of pursuing a certification. Although this incentive program is not retroactive, current NBCTs who work at a high priority school are eligible to receive the award. For more information on the NBPTS program, eligibility and the application process, please see the resource in our shared folder or visit the CDE web page.
