Dear Friends of Crayons to Computers,
Did you know that Friday, March 31st was National Crayon Day? Yes, an entire day of celebration devoted to the crayon. How truly fitting.
A box of crayons opens up a world of color, imagination and possibilities for our youngest students (and our older ones). Crayons mean that cows can be traditional brown or purple with pink polka dots. Crayons serve as the guide to learning shapes, numbers, spelling and matching games - the fundamental building blocks of learning and ultimately success in the classroom.
Whether your favorite color is fire engine red, sky blue or forest green - there is always a favorite - it only matters that you (and all of the students we serve together) have the chance to choose a favorite.
A belated Happy National Crayon Day!

Calling on Teachers and Students to Make Wishes for Kids in Need |
The
#MyWishForYou Campaign has captured the attention of a number of local businesses, volunteer groups and even students in the past month, all of which want to make a positive impact for the kids we serve.
The heart-warming wish shown here was from a 7th Grader at Seven Hills School.
We are calling upon teachers and students, alike, to write notes of inspiration and encouragement to kids in need. There are approximately 37,000 backpacks that Crayons to Computers plans to fill with these notes that the students will receive in the fall through our Teacher Free Store and Mobile Outreach Program. With your help, you and your students can make an impact.
If your school or class is interested in taking part in this campaign, please contact
Stephen Bernstein with your request or questions.

Judith Lamb |
In honor of our 20th Anniversary celebration in 2017 we will be sharing our Top 20 Teacher Spotlights throughout the year. If you have stories to share please forward them on to Stephen Bernstein at Crayons to Computers.
Judith Lamb, an Art Educator in the Grant County School District is our Teacher Spotlight for the month of April. She's an expert at finding creative ways to use products found at Crayons with her students. She can often be found searching for treasures in the Miscellaneous, Pick 1, and Pick 4 sections. With a small budget and Four
Elementary schools to serve, we are regularly impressed by her ingenuity and creativity with the items she finds at Crayons to Computers. Her students are lucky to have her! Check out the look-alike doll she
created for our Store Merchandiser, Jim.

Jim, with his look alike doll. |
Whether it is teaching students to sew, bringing stories to life with puppets, or decorating the school hallways with silhouettes, she keeps her students engaged!
Judith's goal is to encourage the artist in every student, providing
them with opportunities to express themselves and be creative through all aspects of learning.
