Join us at the TLA on December 19 for an info session presented by the Teachers College at Columbia University. Representatives from the Teacher's College will share details about the SPA|NOLA 14-month Master's degree program to put you on the path to school leadership. Science teachers, your favorite time of year is coming! Get ready for the 2019 Science Fair!

Are you representing your school for the 2019 Spring Science Fair? Come out to the Pink Palace on December 13 for the 2018-19 Science Fair Coordinators' Meeting . New this year, the Science Fair will be open to all K-8 students. Please RSVP in advance to give the planning crew an accurate headcount, and plan to arrive a few minutes early for security and check in.

Nobody knows SCS' best and brightest better than veteran educators! We're counting on you to help us identify honorees for the 2019 Alumni Hall of Fame Gala. Do you recall a former grad who went on to make you proud of their successes and community impact? Send in a nomination to shout out your favorite alumni for a chance to honor them on the big stage on March 23. We'll be accepting nominations through December 19, and chosen honorees will be announced in January. more details are also coming soon about how to purchase discount employee tickets to the highly anticipated 2019 gala!
Who's hiring? The City of Memphis- and they're recruiting SCS students!

We know winter is just getting started, but it's already time to start thinking about summer! Get your students started on their summer plans early by sharing the City of Memphis' MPLOY Youth Summer Experience application. Students age 14-21 can earn up to $1,620, plus get industry certification credits by participating in the program. Programs and summer jobs are available in a wide range of industries, including health and wellness, government, communications, arts, culture, finance and more. Congratulations, Achieve 3000 Read to Succeed winners!

During the fall RTI Read to Succeed contest, classes had the opportunity to earn Read to Succeed points for their class by participating in various Achieve 3000 activities and challenges. The class in each school with the most points earned an e-giftcard to have R2S celebrations! Congrats to these schools and teachers for winning the fall R2S incentive contest!
