How do you make science PD even cooler? Present it in 3D!
You can leave the cool 3D glasses at home for this one, but you'll learn all about teaching three-dimensional science standards for students in grades 3-12. This
half-day workshop presented by TSTA will explore science and engineering practices, cross-cutting concepts, disciplinary core ideas and more. Take a look at the
registration website for more details and to save your spot.
Heads up! This PD is provided by theTN Science Teachers Association, not SCS, so there is a small fee.
Know students with a passion for teaching? Invite them to join the River City Partnership.
If you know of juniors or seniors with career aspirations to become a teacher, share this cool opportunity with them. The University of Memphis is teaming up with SCS to give students a head start on their teaching career.
The River City Partnership aims to recruit students from the Memphis community to receive training and support through high school and college. Graduates will be equipped with licensure to teach in and give back to the local schools that make our city proud! Students can register for the
January 26 info session here. Check out the
RCP website for more information on this program.
Check out world art, get hands-on training and earn PD credit at the Brooks Museum!
Who says earning PD credit can't be fun? The Brooks Museum has an
interactive workshop just for arts and humanities educators in the Mid-South. Get a sneak peek at the new Arts of Global Africa exhibit while also making your own global art and picking up some ideas for your classroom lessons. Plus, you'll earn some much needed PD credit hours! This workshop is free, but space is limited!
