Celebrate your top and most improved student readers by treating them and their families to a FREE football game next Saturday when the Tigers take on Tulane. Submit a list of your students with a B average or higher or students who have made significant literacy gains this school year to reserve three complementary tickets to the game. Tickets are available on a first come-first serve basis. The deadline to submit lists is Thursday, Oct. 17.

The 2019 National Civil Rights Museum Freedom Awards are coming up soon, and SCS teachers and students are invited to join the celebration. Each year, the NCRM honors a special group of students who go above and beyond to be leaders in their schools and communities. These students will be honored at the Freedom Awards student Freedom Forum , amongst this year's adult honorees: John Legend, Hafsat Abiola and Gloria Steinem. You and your students can tune in live to view and participate in a live Q&A with the honorees. Teachers must sign-up for a virtual watch party in advance to participate get access to the live feed.
