The Teacher Weekly is going gold in September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Help us raise funds for the St. Jude Walk-Run to End Childhood Cancer.
Compensation is now offering stipends for advanced degrees and permanent raises for TEM 3+ performance .
The state has released TEM Level of Effectiveness (LOE) scores in  TNCompass . We’re awaiting additional data, so all teachers do not have scores at this time.
There will be no updates to the TEM rubric this year. Please disregard all previous communication about updates to the TEACH 7 and Professionalism indicators.
Educopia is the new portfolio platform replacing GLADIS this school year. The new platform will launch in October. Training info and next steps are coming soon.

How is your school celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month?
Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 - October 15. Schools around the District are planning programs, after-school events, service projects and more to celebrate Hispanic heritage in our community. If your school is planning a celebration, let us know by September 27 ! Your school could be selected by the SCS Newsroom team for a cool school feature!
Get ready to Read for the Record on October 19!
It's time for Read for the Record 2017! This year's selected title is Quackers by Liz Wong. Elementary schools all over the country will participate in this record-breaking celebration of literacy as we read together on October 19. Schools are encouraged to work with adopters, community partners and volunteers to make this reading event memorable for students. If you have an awesome Read for the Record celebration planned, send us a heads up! Your school might get featured in the SCS Newsroom !
i-Ready access is available for Exceptional/SPED teachers.
Exceptional/SPED teachers who need i-Ready access can be added by your school's PowerSchool admin. Admins, please add teachers to a valid class/section in PowerSchool. After teachers have been synced over from PowerSchool, students can be assigned to the teacher in the PowerSchool class or assigned manually in i-Ready via an Instructional Group.
Mempho Fest tickets are free for SCS staff and students.
As a part of the " Learn to Rock " program outreach, Mempho Fest is providing free tickets to SCS high school students, staff and family members! Their purpose is to build bridges in the community by educating students on Memphis' rich music history. The tickets are available first come first serve for October 6 (5 - 11 p.m.) and October 7 (Noon - Midnight). SCS students participating in the Learn to Rock ticket program must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone.  RSVP by Sept. 25 to get your free tickets!
Changes are on the way for the TLA teacher resource room.
The TLA Teacher Resource Room is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are die-cuts and paper cutters available. However, we no longer are able to support copies, poster making or lamination resources that were previously available. If you have questions about the availability of a specific die-cut, please contact Mary Douglas at the TLA - [email protected] .
