This is the last week to send us your nominees for Teacher of the Year. If you know of a fellow teacher in our District who is knocking it out of the park, show him/her some love by nominating them for the 2018-19 Teacher of the Year program. Qualified nominees will be honored by SCS and be entered into the running to be named Tennessee's 2018-19 Teacher of the Year by the Tennessee Department of Education. Complete your nomination by the October 1 deadline to qualify!

If you're excited about the new Teacher Leadership initiative and can't wait to get your hands on an opportunity, you're in luck! The Science department has several options for teachers to take the lead as a school Science Fellow or Science Facilitator. Apply for these leadership roles to provide input to the SCS curriculum team on everything from textbook selection to facilitating PD or designing lessons for other teachers to implement in their classrooms.

If your school isn't one 122 schools with a FREE Learning Garden from Big Green, submit your application by October 19 to be considered. Hitting the club after school? We want an invite!

Not that club, but we do want to know about the after school clubs and extracurricular activities you sponsor at your school. Fill out our clubs and activities form so that we can better support you and your students by connecting you to opportunities and information relevant to your organization. This will also give us a chance to identify cool groups, projects, teachers, students and more to feature in our new #SCSis901 campaign for the whole city to see! No club, troop, group or team is too small- we want to know about them all!
