What other schools did you consider?
Harvard, Notre Dame, Georgetown, High Point, Fairfield, Army, Delaware and Richmond.
How did the school you chose separate itself from the others you considered?
Villanova fit the description of everything I looked for in a school. Prestigious academics, highly ranked business program, smaller student population, centralized campus, strong sense of community, and successful alumni who were student-athletes at the school.

How would you describe your recruiting process overall?
I had a very positive recruiting process. With a ton of help from Coach Flanagan, I was able to speak with coaches from a variety of schools and take visits to see how well of a fit each program might be during my process. I had options to choose from which made my process a bit more relaxing; knowing that I would be able to find an opportunity somewhere if one school didn't work out.

What was your favorite part of the recruiting process?
My favorite part of the recruiting process was the night of September 1st when coaches could finally reach out to players with emails, text messages or phone calls and express their interest. I remember staying up past midnight to see who was going to reach out to me to set up phone calls. I also enjoyed taking visits to programs and meet the coaching staffs that showed an interest in me. It was very exciting to see what each school had to offer and allowed me to make an informed decision.

What opportunities and information assisted you during your recruiting process?
The knowledge and information provided by the Team 24/7 Staff, prospect camps, and campus tours assisted me in my recruiting process. This allowed me to make the best decision for myself and my family as I was able to create a list of criteria of what I liked in a school/program.

Did you feel like you had support from the Team 24/7 Staff during your process? If so, how?
I had a tremendous amount of support from the 24/7 staff during my recruiting process. Ryan was a great resource to have during this process. He guided me through phone calls, email exchanges, and reached out to coaches for me to help create a list of who I should be contacting, and who I should expect to see emails from on September 1st. Great amounts of stress and anxiety were alleviated due to the endless support I received from the 24/7 Staff.

What individual or showcase events, if any, did you find the most beneficial during your process?
I found that prospect camps were very useful to me throughout the process. Having Ryan reach out to coaches to keep an eye out for me at their camps really helped me get useful feedback and a sense of how realistic my chances were at that specific school.

What would you tell younger players or parents to help them prepare for the recruiting process?
I would focus on making sure your skills and abilities are where they need to be to play in college before worrying about being recruited. Once you have the skillset and the determination to play at the next level, everything will fall into place. If you are a great player, teammate and hustler, there will be a spot on a college roster for you.
Coach Flanagan on Tucker
"When your best player is also your hardest worker, you have something special. Tucker is that guy. He is always getting his teammates out on the field or on the wall for extra work. He leads by example in practice, in the gym and in the classroom. Tucker is going to be successful in anything he decides to do in life because of his work ethic and competitive drive.
One of the things that stuck out to coaches in the recruiting process was how hard Tucker plays. He's got that chip on his shoulder that coaches love. When he dodges, he doesn't want to beat you by a step, he wants to beat you by 10 yards. He shoots the ball like he is not just trying to score but he is trying to shoot the ball through the back of the net. When Tuck showed up to the prospect day at Villanova, they were actually focused on 3 players that were competing for the last spot in their 2019 class. They saw Tuck a few weeks earlier in Philly and knew he was good but thought they had some time since he was a 2020. Once they got to work with him on the field, that all changed. He was the guy they needed to have and those 2019s were an afterthought. They loved how coachable he was and the way he played. As a younger guy at the event, he didn't back down from anyone and everything he did was at full speed.

He's a special kid and I can't wait to see what he does with Lake Norman this Spring and at Villanova in the future."
