Don’t Leave Money on the Table -- Enroll in a Health Savings Account
DPS’ annual Benefits Open Enrollment is happening now! Visit thecommons.dpsk12.org/openenrollment to take action and you will be entered to win a $250 prize.

Enrolling in benefits? Don’t forget to enroll in an HSA!
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are savings accounts that let you put aside tax-free dollars to pay for health care costs. If you are enrolled in one of our six Consumer-Driven Health Plans (CDHPs), you are eligible for a Health Savings Account. When you open an HSA, DPS automatically contributes $27.92 to your account every pay period (twice monthly), even if you do not make any contributions from your paycheck. And, each year the money in your HSA rolls over. All you need to do is sign up during Benefits Open Enrollment.

Living Our DPS Honoree
Janet Damon
Specialist, Library Services

"Janet Damon is relentless in her pursuit of our Shared Core Value of Equity and is always seeking to expand reading and literacy opportunities for our students. This past year, she heard from a principal in the far northeast that their school didn't have a library. Janet immediately began collaborating with that principal and developed a mobile library, carting in hundreds of books. Not only did this effort get more students reading and talking about books, but it’s also filling a need for both DPS and the community.

Additionally, Janet exhibits leadership in a number of employee and student advocacy opportunities, such as the Belong Women of Color group and African-American Young Ladies Summit. Janet offers a warm presence and is consistently developing innovative ways to engage more young women and DPS team members to feel like they belong. Finally, her social media presence is AMAZING. She is always sharing out new films and books that touch on timely topics, bringing those thoughts to her various communities throughout DPS. Janet is, simply put, incredible."
