Top 5: Why Your Principal is the Best

We'll also feature school leaders on DPS social media throughout the month, so  use #thankaprincipal to share your shoutouts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  The Top 5 responses are below, and congratulations to our giveaway prize winner, Catrina Pazo at Ashley Elementary

Living Our DPS Honoree

Kurt Siebold
Principal, Slavens
Integrity

"Kurt Siebold, the principal at Slavens for more than a decade, is a paragon of leadership and inspiration and lives our Shared Core Value of Integrity. His defining characteristics are kindness, trustworthiness and diplomacy. Kurt navigates our community through celebrations and tragedies, listens thoughtfully and does not make impulsive decisions. He considers multiple perspectives and always puts the students' needs first.

Kurt values his staff's expertise and experience, and facilitates authentic collaboration with our school community. He also advocates for our students and teachers to access current technology, facilitates social-emotional health strategies for whole child education and provides meaningful professional development for our staff. Although he takes care of business, he does it while wearing colorful, cartooned ties and yearly Halloween costumes. Kurt encourages all of us to raise the bar, even when the bar is already very high. Thank you, Kurt, for being our amazing leader!"
