Two months and counting ... The Saskatchewan Winter Games are a fantastic way to showcase sport, culture, and community spirit. With 16 sports on the schedule and two great host communities—Flying Dust First Nation and Meadow Lake—it’s going to be a memorable event.

Did you know? District boundaries for Sask Games is based on an RM map. Athlete eligibility is based on where you reside and where you go to school. About Us has lists of the RM's and Communities in Prairie Central.  If in doubt, call the District office to inquire.

Weightlifting

• Age category: 10-18 YOA (Born 2008-2016)
• Tryouts:
• All Athletes wishing to be considered for selection must complete and submit the 2026 Sask Games Submission of Interest Form on or before January 1, 2026
• Must be a registered member of Saskatchewan Weightlifting by January 10, 2026
• Must remain as a registered member in good standing with their Training Centre, Sask Weightlifting, and Canada Weightlifting, up to and including the Games.
• Have competed in at least one sanctioned competition between Oct 1, 2025 and January 24, 2026 to be eligible for selection. Only results from sanctioned competitions will be considered for selection.
• The athletes with the highest % of the marker from a qualifying competition will be named to the team, with a maximum of two (2) per IWF bodyweight category.
• Saskatchewan Weightlifting

About the Saskatchewan Games

First established in 1972, the purpose of the biennial Saskatchewan Games is to provide an opportunity for the province’s developing athletes, coaches and officials to participate in an inclusive and exciting multi-sport event in preparation for a higher level of competition, including the Canada Games and North American Indigenous Games. Countless Saskatchewan Games alumni have advanced to competition on the national stage and beyond, with Olympic champions such as Emily Clark, Colleen Sostorics, and Lucas Makowsky counting the Saskatchewan Games as a key step along their journeys to the highest levels of sport.
